SnV
A sweet dark caramel with notes of a darker molasses/treacle and a slight liquorice/anise on the tail end
7 Day Steep
This now has some salt like content to it I believe this is coming from the liquorice/anise that I still taste, no other change
14 Day Steep
The caramel is now coming through more, sweet and slightly sticky mouthfeel, the treacle like note has now steeped out, the salt is now coming through, however a very slight liquorice taste still remains, I believe that this accent flavour is what is providing the salt effect
21 Day Steep
No change
28 Day Steep
No change
Suggested Usage
I’d use this as an accent 0.5%-1%, Background 1%-2%, Main 2%-3%
If you wanted this stand-alone, I’d suggest 3%-5%
I’d use this with Fruit, chocolate, bakery, cream, vanilla, tobacco and nuts and anywhere else you wanted a salted caramel
Summary
This is a sweet and slightly dark salted caramel that actually has a little saltiness to it after a steep. For me this has slight anise like notes to it, I believe this is what it gives this the illusion of saltiness. I’d advise to start low in mixes as taken high this may be a coil killer.
